What I do have currently is a great starting point, though, and it’s been fantastic getting back into writing something completely new after spending so much of this year tweaking and editing.
In terms of 2025: it’s going to be a bit of an unknown, mainly due to major renovation work being planned for our house, and there’s no easy way to tell how disruptive that will be. So I’m not going to try and estimate what my progress will look like quarter-to-quarter next year, but the overall aim will be to have a full draft (200k-250k words) completed by the end of it.
(I’ve decided not to announce a title, for now, too: I’m 90% settled on my working one, but it’s always possible something better will occur to me as I write, so there’s no need to force the issue at this early stage.)
Not much more to add, here, other than I’m feeling really good about the direction of this book, and genuinely looking forward to working on it next year - which is a great place to be!

Work on Hierarchy #3 is officially underway! I do have a title but am not 100% settled on it yet, so that’s something I might save for December’s update.
Anyway: I’ve now completed a 10k word outline for this new book, and while my outlines do tend to shift a bit as I write, I’m feeling pretty confident in this one. I’ll be working on the first full draft over the course of the next few months – though, some of that time will be spent editing Strength, and I’ll also be on holiday for a couple of weeks in November. Given that, if I can get 20-30k words done by the end of December, I think that’ll be a good springboard into next year.
Of course, I’ll also continue updating this page with how things are going with The Strength of the Few until it’s released - so if you’re looking for that, it’s just in the section below! 🔥 📚
